The Namek Saga - The Setup

The first thing we must understand is the reasons for the existence of the Namek Saga. What events have occurred up to this point in order to cause this saga to occur.
The first story arc of the Namek Saga is the arrival of the last saiyans on Earth. It begins with the arrival of Raditz, Goku's supposed brother, who, along with 2 other saiyan warriors, escaped the destruction of the saiyan homeworld, Planet Vegeta.
Upon his arrival, we are introduced to 3 Important plot devices, ones which drive the entire Saga forward time and time again.
They are:
The Spacepod
The Scouter
Power Levels
All of these will be further elaborated on further in the next article.
